When students are using a macOS 11 Big Sur device to take tests in remote sessions, the screen sharing feature does not function properly. While students are permitted to share a screen with the test administrator or test examiner, the student interface does not display on the Test Administrator Interface. This issue occurs whether the student is using a conventional web browser or the secure browser application.
Workaround: Students must use Chrome, Windows, or an earlier supported macOS version, to be able to use screen sharing. Resolution: This issue is now resolved. When the student completes the Recording Device Check during the logon process, the button that should read [ I heard my recording ] is instead displaying [ Try Again ]. We are working to correct the button text and will post an update as soon as this issue is resolved. Workaround: Students should select the [ Try Again ] button, verify that the green check mark displays at the top-right corner of the recording device check, and then proceed with the assessment.
At this time, the secure browser is only functional on computers using OS X Resolution: Secure browser version While it is still undergoing internal testing, formal support for its use with the test delivery system TDS —the Test Administrator Interface, Student Testing Interface, and Data Entry Interface—is expected to be announced in mid-November.
